What to pack for a weekend trip to Europe “en tant que fan de football”

1 June 2019

Hello,

Hope you have all been well,

I am currently planning for my weekend trip to Nice to watch a football game. It will be England Ladies vs Scotland and it will be my first time watching professional women play. I find this fact really funny as I play football semi – professionally which I love. I will be packing as a person who loves neutral Parisian fashion and occasional football shirts. Therefore, my wardrobe choices for a weekend are conflicting. I have seen the retro England men’s shirt from Sports Direct and think that will definitely be a choice. I always think a good pair of trousers or jeans are essential, plain white tee, white blouse and short mac coat and blazer would be good. I will definitely be wearing my Veja trainers which go with everything. I will be ordering another pair soon as I love the retro vibe they bring to my outfits.

Smiling through insecurities

26 May 2019

Hello,

Hope you have all been well. Recently, I have made small changes to my life such as diet changes, going to the gym and socialising more and now feel so much better - physically and mentally. It can be so easy to allow insecurities to cripple you and I am very guilty of that. It is also one of the reasons why I started blogging as I needed a space to be me. I wanted to discuss what my insecurities are - which is my weight. I know that I really hate the size that I am currently and I am allowed to do so, even if I hide it well. I know that I am an emotional eater and that when things are tough that I will eat. It is why although I have gone from a size 10 to 14 - I don't see that as the end of the world. It really took me a while to come to terms with that, being from a Nigerian background: I am constantly reminded of my size and compared to my slimmer sisters. I take those "you should lose weight, where did this weight come from or cut down on the yam" jabs weekly, but eventually it does eat away at you emotionally. I know that I will lose this weight but that that will take time.

My summer plans

21 May 2019

Hello,

Hope you have all been well,

I have recently been looking at what I am going to do this summer. In early June, I will be going to Nice to watch England Ladies play Scotland which I am very excited for. It will be for 2 days but I will definitely make the most of it. I would like to visit the Place Massena, Parc du Mont Boron and definitely Sephora. It will be a short trip but I cannot wait to explore the cuisine as I love French food likSalade Ni├žoise or Ratatouille. Furthermore, I was also thinking about going to Sicily again. Last year, my trip was cut short unexpectedly but this year I will definitely make the most of this trip. Sicily was beautiful but I can’t wait to have an adventure, take beautiful pictures and relax. I will do a blog post on what to pack on a short trip to Europe, what to do and what to eat.

OOTD - Spring Favourites

14 April 2019

Hello,

Hope all is well,

I have recently been exploring new style pieces and recently found this coat from H&M which I love. It's like a short Mac coat which is lovely for spring and summer. I have mixed it with another H&M jumper, New Look trousers and loafers from & Other Stories. I really adore these loafers as they look like men's shoes which I recently rediscovered in my shoe collection. I didn't use these shoes initially  as they were so painful to break in, but after persistence they fit wonderfully now.  I have definitely been inspired by Lizzy Hadfield - Shot from the Street who has such effortless style, with simple and quality pieces put together beautifully. I'm definitely getting into being photographed more as it can be quite awkward so thank you to my sister for being a top photographer. I hope to be doing some professional blog shoots in the future so watch this space.

Hello Lisbon

21 March 2019

Hello,

I have just come back from Lisbon and it was a wonderful adventure. I loved every part of Lisbon from the sight seeing, culture, food and so much more. I was there for 5 days and really gained insight into the city life. The people were so wonderful and I was able to learn some of the language too. Portuguese is very fast paced but similar to Spanish which I found easier to grasp. I went to the city square for the Climate Change Protests, had the most amazing brunch at Zenith and went sailing. I also had the opportunity to have some photos taken by Prasad - an Indian photographer and they look amazing.

I also went shopping and they have so many shops like Mango, Zara, Levi and Sephora which are my favourites in the UK. I also explored Chicora who sell wool blankets made in Portugal which I loved and my boyfriend bought me one with the matching cushion. I loved the ethos of Chicora as they recycle all their materials and create wool bags which I also received. I am definitely looking at being more of a sustainable shopper and donating clothes I don't use to charity.

Furthermore, I would definitely recommend Lisbon as WOC friendly. I have gone to other European cities such as Ancona in Italy and definitely felt the isolation and stares. It is the reason why I always research whether a city in Europe or anywhere in the world is racist because it ruins your holiday when igornance is the only thing you can picture.

I will do a Sephora haul this week I hope and showcase more photos I took in Portugal from my camera, the photos below are from my iPhone X and Prasad.
